Christmas Wishlist: Noir

Although i love giving (and receiving, of course!!) presents, the part that is totally nerve-wracking for me is when i choose the gifts and i want to find the "perfect" gift for everyone. For that, wishlists and gift guides are essential to have an idea in what your friends, family etc would like or what would be more suitable for each and everyone of them.
So here's one of my wishlists/gift guides that can be used not only for Christmas but for any occasion all year long. Hope you like it.

Winter Escapes

Every year as we're heading up for Christmas holidays, we're seeking on doing something special, something different from the previous year, something memorable and unique. For that, a simple yet exciting solution is to escape in other places either near us, let's say to a different city, or 'a bit' further, to different countries. But either near or far away, one thing is common: Christmas equals to snowy surroundings, cold weather and warn 'n' cozy interiors! From an architectural point of view though, the coziness and comfort of a place to stay are not enough. They have to be combined with intriguing yet clean designs and fine materials in order to be more appealing, more interesting. While i was searching for winter escapes, these places draw my attention, and i thought to share them.

Pedestrianism!

While i was surfing on the internet a few days ago, an article with a very unique park caught my eye. The photos of the park showed a place with a playful complexity and some very bight colors in its' design. Well...The 'Superkilen' urban park is a newly constructed open space situated in Nørrebro area in Copenhagen. That linear park, which is a kilometer long, passes through the most ethnically diverse and socially challenged neighborhoods of the danish capital since more than 60 nationalities lives in that area(!). 'Superkilen' is a project of BIG architects, landscape architecture studio Topotek1 and artist collective Superflex. The. The urban park, which is defined by three color-coded areas, integrates in a common ground, parts of each culture and nationality providing a space with distinctive functions and unique atmospheres.
F.Y.I (for your information...!): Copenhagen is considered as one of the most sustainable cities in Europe nowadays. This is achieved mainly by reforming the city in such ways that pedestrian and bicycle traffic is promoted over car usage. Beside the highly rated bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure that covers the city, Copenhagen is a city well endowed with an extensive system of open spaces and parks.
